The need for scientific research for the morphometric study in placentas from twin pregnancies is founded, as an approximation to the correlation between the morphometric pattern, chorionicity and fetal and neonatal well-being, as basic / clinical criteria to be taken into account to improve the actions of the national sexual and reproductive health program in Cuba. The social importance of a research design in this field is highlighted, when verifying the epistemic deficiencies from a systematized search of bibliographic information on the subject.
