TARAJANO MARQUEZ, Juliana Mercedes. Some bioethical considerations on the information to the patients of the positive mamma cancer results in mammographic studies. Rev. Med. Electrón. [online]. 2010, vol.32, n.6, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1684-1824.

Mamma cancer is still one of the most frequent malignant neoplasias in Cuba and around the world. Medical practice as a cognitive activity putting the observational means at the service of the diagnosing and healing is present in all the diagnosis of the oncologic diseases, and mamma cancer is one of them. Bioethics demands the substitution of the technologic mentality for another more rational directed to the maintenance of a life quality, avoiding risks to patients, alleviating pain and restoring health. The procedure of imagenologists is informing the patient or his/her relative, in a direct way, of the disease affecting him/her at the moment of making the imagenologic studies. The tolerable truth is a patrimony of the medicine; it is not special for the oncologic patient. When the patient receives the information, his/her environment and psychology are altered, also changing the attitude towards the future of his/her situation, and that is the moment when the information should be given on the prognosis and the current methods to increase his/her life quality and expectancy.
