The starting point is to consider the insufficiencies that university graduates have in communication as an inherent competency of a professional, due to the poor mastery of this category, its characteristics, indicators and features that typify it. Qualitative research was used, based on methods such as observation, interviews, surveys, analysis and synthesis, documentary study, analysis and criticism of sources, all from a rigorous theoretical systematization. As a result, a conceptualization of the category object of study is provided, its characterization and a proposal of dimensions and indicators that denote its presence in these professionals.
