Resumo

CRISTIA LARA, Sahilí. Fertility in Santiago de Cuba: a view for subgroups of ages and simple ages (2008-2012). Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.26, pp. 119-133. ISSN 1817-4078.

It’s studied the level and structure of the fertility in Santiago de Cuba province. It’s deepened in the groups of women in reproductive age, settling down for it subgroups of ages to the interior of the same ones; at the same time it’s particularized in the simple ages. The used methodology was the quantitative one, as well as the calculation of demographic indicators for the whole universe, starting from sources of information. The results point to that the level of the fertility in the period 2008-2012 have stayed below the substitution, with slight oscillations. The biggest degree is appreciated in the year 2008. The pattern of the fertility, has its superior values in the group 20-24 years, what reaffirms a structure of early peak. As long as, the subgroups that more they pay as for births to the structure of the fecundity they are: 18 to 19 years, 22 to 24 years, 27 to 29 years, 32 to 34 years, 35 to 36 years, 40 at 41 years and 45 to 46 years. While the simple ages are: 19 years, 22 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, 40 years and 45 years.
