The interpersonal relationships that are developed through the Internet, have created new imaginaries in the Ecuadorian young people. These relationships that arise on the web have been established as a daily occurrence with the rise of social networks, sometimes without measuring the negative consequences of their misuse. This article aims to approach such an important issue and contribute to the awareness of the new environments in which these relationships occur, as well as provide an updated theoretical reference for future research. The methodological strategy ran through the hermeneutic, documentary and analytic-synthetic methods. The findings obtained allowed us to conclude that adolescents and young people, "digital natives", establish interpersonal relationships mediated by technologies, without having a clear perception of the risk implied by their inadequate employment, they have a mistaken sense of immunity, which makes them potential victims of unscrupulous digital surfers.
