The present investigation starts from the objective to demonstrate the application of the methodology of the didactic games in the learning of the mathematical notions in boys and girls of 5 years of the Educational Institution N ° 329 of the neighborhood of Santa Ana of the Huancavelica Region. The research belongs to the applied type, explanatory level, and we worked with a non-probability sample made up of 40 5-year-old children, 20 in the control group and 20 in the experimental group. The methodology of the didactic games offers a dynamic and active education in the students which encourages the learning of the mathematical notions in the participants, through a greater sense of security and self-confidence. This methodology was carried out in a welcoming and motivating environment for 17 weeks, focusing on respect and self-determination, in order to maximize their abilities and attitudes. The results obtained allowed us to show that there are different levels of achievement, both in the pre-test and post-test depending on the research groups, obtaining in the experimental group more than 80% of achievement of the indicators foreseen in the research, which evidences that the strategy of didactic games significantly favored the development of autonomous learning of mathematical notions.
