This study analyzes the activities related to the Measures of Central Tendency (MTC) proposed in three Chilean textbooks of 7th grade of primary education, two of them published by the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and the other one by the Santillana publishing house. For that purpose, a qualitative, descriptive methodology was followed, through a content analysis, considering the following units of study: type of MTC, type of task, form of data representation, form of mention and way of working. In general, the results show the predominance of the mean, the task of calculating the MTC, representation of data through a data listing, direct mention and individual way of working. This study will serve as a basis to expand the analysis of Basic Education textbooks, and show the type of activities related to MTC proposed in seventh grade in Chile.
