The educational reality of recent years has promoted human development in the field of education, and raises the need for career guidance work to become a more humanized process. That goes beyond the mere transmission of information and is significant for the student. Aimed at empowering an individual capable of living in democracy, critical and reflective in order to be useful to society. In turn, it is important that the university achieve greater creativity and social autonomy in its performance, which leads to the particularization of its management and the formation of personalities capable of living with satisfaction in their community, and positively influencing it in an interactive and developer process. At present, psychology professionals do not cover the social needs that the profession entails, due to the small number of these doctors, in correspondence with the population that demands their services. It would be necessary to question then to what extent vocational guidance is working in this sense, therefore, the Autonomous Regional University of the Andes promoted this study to identify the problem in question.
