Among the current tasks facing Higher Education is that of achieving transformations in the quality of the teaching process to fully develop the potential of students. This requires the preparation of teachers and the search for opportunities for their permanent training in general and that with a pedagogical profile in particular, which imposes on them the challenge of pedagogical professionalization. This work aims to argue the importance of professionalization and ICTs in improving the professional performance of teachers, from the contributions in the theory and practice of the theory of Advanced Education. Assume the dialectical materialist conception. The theoretical methods used were historical-logical, analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive. The empirical methods used were observation, which was carried out through the documentary review technique. The figures of the theory of Advanced Education are identified as contributions that contribute to the improvement of the professional performance of the teacher from professionalization and ICTs, so it is important to work from the teacher's improvement in the domain of digital technologies that lead to the necessary transformations, reaching higher quality levels of professionalism.
