Introduction:

The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Cotorro municipality has faced the disease with 331 outbreak controls and two epidemiological events.

Objective:

To show health actions to confront COVID-19 during February-July 2020 in Cotorro.

Methods:

A descriptive, observational and transversal research of the implemented health management actions was carried out, according to the virological results, daily reports issued by the management center of the health municipality, related to the investigation of suspicious cases, medical care for acute respiratory infections detected at family doctor's offices and specialized check-ups in polyclinics.

Results:

At the beginning of February, pre-epidemic preparation began with a group of organizational measures. Actions were developed at family doctor's offices as soon as the first cases were presented. The health and community actions carried out in the epidemiological events at Lotería municipal council and the provincial center for social protection were highlighted, as well as in three important focal points, located in the urban center, in La Caridad neighborhood and in Cuatro Caminos m unicipality

Conclusions:

The health actions for the confrontation with COVID-19 in Cotorro, are in correspondence with those indicated by the country's management and show the work developed in the territory for the population's health.
