The current advances and the role of the new technologies in the design and construction of pumping stations to irrigation are presented in an interesting way in this paper. The last advances in the spheres technique and theoretical related with the design and operation of the pumps is presented. Stress is made in the advances and innovations in the administration of the operation, in consonance with the energy optimization in these installations. The indispensable role of the specialized software and the qualitative jump that is achieved in the help for the selection, analysis and design of projects advances for pumping station, are also approached.
