MARTINEZ-HERNANDEZ, Carlos M.; OECHSNER, Hans e BRULE, Mathieu. Hohenheim Yield Test (HBT) Methodology for the Determination of Methane Potential in Agricultural Substrates. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.2 Epub 01-Abr-2021. ISSN 2071-0054.
The work presents the HBT methodology, created and used in the University of Hohenheim, Germany for the analysis and valuation of methane potential of agricultural substrates with the objective of using them as raw material in different biogas plants in production in that country. This methodology is simple and can be extrapolated to any investigation or development institution that is in charge of analyzing methane potentiality of different agricultural substrates. For its importance and applicability, the fundamental steps of this methodology are described, which could be introduced in Cuban universities or investigation institutions devoted to this activity, being the objective of this work to make it known in Cuba. By means of this methodology, it is possible to value a great number of trials of investigation saving material, human and financial resources, simultaneously. At the same time, the results reached with this methodology are transferable to productive scale, since they are supported by the existent regulatory schemes in this field.
