Objective:

this article aims at describing a didactic strategy for competency-based education for political assessment of individuals in History major students following the Sociopolitical Theory course.

Methods:

following a systemic-structural-functional approach, the authors rely in methods such as analysis and synthesis, documentary analysis, interview, survey, and class observation. A Dembo Rubinstein scale was also used to verify the level of teachers’ political assessment skills and a pre-experiment for the partial introduction of the didactic strategy.

Results:

The main finding is a didactic strategy for competency-based education for political assessment of individuals in History major students following the Sociopolitical Theory course.

Conclusion:

the devised strategy developed favors the training for political assessment of individuals, that enable an innovative and up-dated professional performance of graduates.
