GARCIA GONZALEZ, Máryuri  e  GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Alfredo. The training of management skills from the forest engineering major professional model. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp. 56-63. ISSN 2218-3620.

The work presented is part of a doctoral research, defended, validated and applied in the Forest Engineering Major at the University of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. An analysis of the Forest Engineering Major curriculum is made; taking as starting point the future graduates professional profile, so that specific proposals of the general competencies required for successful performance in the productive and service activities in the forestry sector are stated. Also, a five-year training process to be covered in the whole major is proposed, seeing management as a core; which makes the major more dynamic and assumes competencies in their broadest and most integral sense. The research demonstrates the necessary inclusion of competencies training in the major, in order to achieve more and better prepared professionals who promote forestry development in Cuba from a scientifically basis, and respecting the principles of sustainable development for a better world for everyone.
