Problematic teaching is a learning method with a tendency to be used at all levels of education, especially in Latin American countries and in medical sciences. The article provides the general theoretical foundations that contribute to teachers training regarding the use of problematic teaching as an alternative to develop creativity in the teaching-learning process.
