CHAVEZ ZALDIVAR, Nadia; SALAZAR-SALAZAR, Maritza  e  CALZADILLA GONZALEZ, Onaida. INITIAL FORMATION OF THE GRADUATE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION FOR THE ATENCION TO STUDENTS WITH PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT RETARDATION. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp. 122-127. ISSN 2218-3620.

The present study deals with the results of a study aimed at improving initial elementary school teacher training to offer educational response to students with psychic development retardation. Its objective is to determine the theoretical and methodological assumptions of an interdisciplinary procedure, for the training process of the Graduates in Elementary Education. Based on the use of theoretical and empirical research methods, theoretical and practical insufficiencies are revealed in the attention provided to students with psychic development retardation, elements which support how this process should be structured for professional- pedagogical skills development. The main categories for inclusive education and their relationships in the professional training process are determined, revealing the foundations of inclusive education in the elementary school teacher initial formation.

Palavras-chave : Initial formation; students with psychic development retardation; elementary school teacher.
