This paper deals with the environmental education within the context of the Cuban university development process. It is presented a theoretical framework study about future professional formation, university, transversality and environmental education to support the transversal character of environmental education and its characteristics within the Cuban university context. Finally, it´s is presented an environmental education proposal following stages that specify its development from the necessary competences graduates might have to face prevention, mitigation and solve environmental negative impacts.
