This article deals with a relevant topic within the development of linguistic skills in Elementary School students: building written texts. For the achievement of such goal, a methodological alternative based on precedent text reading is implemented matching the reading topics with the ones for writing. On the other hand, the results obtained by the primary authoress during the research period, which fit her PhD preparation process are shown, using a 20 second-grader sample from La Esperanza Educational Facility. As result of this procedure, significant achievement in the students are exhibited, which proves the effectiveness of the alternative implemented, reinforcing the need that for the students manage writing enough texts, at least from the area of the ideas, they must have previous knowledge on the topic.
