The concept of the value chain of the destination allows us to build a space for novel analysis of the functioning of the tourist activity, identifying the different actors that are part of the chain and links. In addition to the actors, the identification of problems and potentialities allowed establishing the real situation of the elements involved in the provision of destination services. In the investigation, a value chain analysis of the tourist destination Dos Mangas, an icon in the Santa Elena Peninsula, is applied. For this, an in-situ work has been carried out with tourism suppliers and a focus group analysis with academics and connoisseurs of the site, which has allowed analyzing the variables involved in the generation of value from the perspective of the sustainability, identifying critical points as the basis for the approach of strategies aimed at enhancing the capacity of the destination to generate value along the chain.
