The objective of this paper is to analyze the opportunities and possibilities of achieving a synergy between the sugar cane biorefineries and the gradual development of the Cuban chemical industry, as well as proposing a methodology as a tool for industrial synergy and decision-making in industries that can be modified, revamping and modernized with the obtaining of new products and co-products with high added value. The development of chemical products from sugar biorefineries is defined and proposed, with leading products such as sugar, ethanol, ethylene, furfural, furfuryl alcohol, boards, and synergy with chemical industries such as the chlorine and petroleum industries, the food and chemical industry in general. The industrial synergy between biorefineries and the chemical industry in Cuba, with the use of capacities and facilities, will allow to rescue and develop new products, achieve productive and competitive chains in the economic model, as well as the reduction of imports, with economic and environmental benefits.
