The objective of this article is to systematize existing knowledge on information management systems for renewable energies and the characteristics to be considered in the design of a specific one, which will serve as an effective tool for scholars and decision makers for the Cuban context where we are working on the transformation of the energy matrix. The research has a descriptive-exploratory nature and is used as a fundamental method the bibliographic review of primary and secondary sources. The fundamental conclusions reflect the need for the design of an information management system for renewable energies in Cuba that integrates different functions to access and retrieve relevant and necessary information in order to achieve and meet the objectives of the approved Cuban energy policy for 2030, where the Information Professional plays a key role in the design and implementation of the same that is based on the use of intelligent systems with innovative character, based on continuous improvement and constant updating of the proposal.
