BERROCAL VILLEGAS, Carmen Rosa et al. The professional impact of information-related skills on undergraduate and graduate students. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.1, pp. 79-86. Epub 10-Fev-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
Information has become an essential resource in the development of scientific activities, the production of knowledge and the development of science. Those who do not have the informational tools to interact with the scientific information available on the network, to evaluate it, process it, transform it and even communicate it, will be at a professional and academic disadvantage, since they will have to resign themselves to being only part of the information-consuming public, limiting their professional and academic insertion in an eminently digital society. In this sense, the objective of this research was to evaluate the professional impact of the informational skills of undergraduate and graduate students at a State University in the district of Lima, Peru. For this purpose, a sample of 280 university students, 161 undergraduate students and 119 graduate students were administered an instrument designed online. The processing and analysis of the results reveal the existing limitations of undergraduate students with respect to the development of their information skills, which are not overcome at the graduate level.
