The writing of texts becomes a fundamental element in the educational task and in the training of students in school, because it contributes to developing the complex thinking of the student. The population was made up of 83 students in the fourth grade of secondary education from a public educational institution, located in the district of José Leonardo Ortiz (Lambayeque-Peru). The sample was made up of 20 students. The results obtained in the prestest show that the highest percentage of students is located in the preformal (30%) and receptive (50%) levels; On the other hand, in the post-test, no student is located in the preformal level and only 10% in the receptive one. Regarding the autonomous and strategic levels, in the prestest no student managed to reach these levels; however, in the posttest, 15% reached both levels.
