The study on “Hydraulic evaluation of the seawater pumping system towards the white shrimp Litopenaeus Vannamei progenitor bank in the UEB Yaguacam” comes from considering that the pumping equipment represents 35 % of the total energy consumption, and that in this case a pump of 53 kW of power is manipulated that is used 11 hours a day. For this, technical characteristics of the pump and the piping system were investigated, and the operating point was defined at 340 m3/h for a load of 22,97 m, an efficiency of 65,9 % and a useful power of 21,26 kW. Using the PCE-TDS 100 ultrasonic flowmeter, the magnitude of the unwanted leaks was determined, which generate average loss of 9,9 % of the pumped water; which represent an energy impact of 21 133,5 kWh/year.
