The age group that has presented the greatest vulnerability to influence the consumption of alcohol and tobacco are adolescents, due to the multiple physical, psychological and social changes they face during this stage of growth and development. The Objective to know the resilience and the consumption of alcohol and tobacco in high school adolescents. Quantitative, cross-sectional study of descriptive type, carried out in adolescent high school students. The type of sampling was random stratified by sex, with allocation proportional to the size of each stratum, the sample was 426 adolescents. To measure the variables, a Personal Data Card and Prevalence of Tobacco and Alcohol Consumption and a resilience instrument were used. The first alcohol consumption in adolescents was at 14.4 years old, consuming 3.8 alcoholic beverages on a single occasion, with respect to tobacco, the start was at 14.7 years old, highlighting a consumption of 3.9 tobacco cigarettes per occasion of consumption. consumption. In relation to resilience, the vast majority of adolescents have high scores of resilience to alcohol and tobacco consumption. The findings of this study may be the basis of Nursing care in the prevention of addictions and strengthening of resilience in adolescents.
