At present it is considered a great power to have access to knowledge. Training can make a difference between people, geographical areas and even countries. Therefore, all the efforts made to have access to constant training are key. The new information technologies and communications, in their constant and even astonishing development, become an access route that lowers costs and spreads knowledge. Higher education institutions and other entities capable of generating new knowledge can reach remote and less densely populated places to deliver new knowledge. So much so, that rural areas where the lack of knowledge can become the reason for low levels of production, mono-productive economies and emigration of young people due to the lack of opportunities; they can reverse the situation through undertakings based on updated knowledge. Hence, this article proposes to place before the scientific community elements and fundamental trends of training in general, used for different areas and specifically the importance for rural actors where they can be agents of change in the areas where they live.
