SUAREZ PICO, Bryan Adrian  e  RIVERO PINO, Ramón. Historical forms of masculinity in students of the UPSE social management and development career, 2023. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.5, pp. 327-335.  Epub 30-Out-2023. ISSN 2218-3620.

Throughout history, masculinity has evolved as a social and cultural construct that has shaped the identity of men in both positive and negative ways, resulting in a significant impact on society. In the realm of higher education, this notion of masculinity poses challenges for students, which in turn brings about various consequences for their academic and professional development. Within this context, the research aims to describe how historical forms of masculinity manifest among male students in the Social and Development Management program at UPSE in 2023. The study employs a mixed-method approach, utilizing survey and interview tools with a total sample of 150 male students. The findings demonstrate that while notable progress is observed in terms of gender equality and interpersonal relationships, the traditional form of masculinity remains ingrained. In conclusion, masculinity has an impact on the lives of young students. The research sheds light on aspects of gender relations that require further attention, with the goal of collectively promoting a more equal and equitable gender model.
