In the twenty-first century industries are the engine of the economies of each country in the world, and it is of great interest to control and to supervise the products or goods produced. The general objective of this research is the designing and development of a system for real-time positioning for containers with the same centralized tracking, using smart mobile phones with Android operating system and SMS as a mechanism for information transport. For automation of the system it was used the GPS receiver and sending your information through 2G cell phone network using SMS, obtaining the coordinates of any merchandise in real time which location can be later visualized in real time on a geographic map. Finally, the research focuses on a rapid implementation tool in the Cuban environment of improving of the economic model and on an increased traffic of goods once the foreign investment law was passed and the operations of the container terminal in Mariel started. The developed system is extensible to be used in positioning land transport equipment and of people without requiring modifications.
