HARO SARANGO, Alexander. Varicose disease, an analysis based on minimally invasive treatments in the female patients. Anales de la ACC [online]. 2022, vol.12, n.3  Epub 01-Nov-2022. ISSN 2304-0106.

Introduction.

Chronic venous insufficiency is defined as the inability of the veins to condescend an adequate return of blood to the heart produced by damage to the structure of the wall and valves, which leads to congestion and significant damage to the skin, causing significant functional limitations and aesthetic impairment that produce a negative impact on the quality of life of the affected population. The objective of this paper is to analyze the efficiency of treatments for varicose disease in women.

Methods.

The analysis was carried out using Chi-Square, Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA), and Multinomial Logistic Regression.

Results and Discussion.

Sclerotherapy does not produce recurrence in the patient in the period of one year (0,02), nor does it cause the appearance of varicose veins in the same site (0,05) and it is not classified as an ineffective practice (0,01); with this information, it can be emphasized that sclerotherapy, given its particularities, is a treatment with minimal problems and it is corroborated as a viable treatment in the category of minimally invasive treatment. It is concluded that the other minimally invasive treatments dissimilar to sclerotherapy are not categorized as ineffective; on the contrary, they have promising and feasible results in the long term; however, it is necessary that research on varicose disease increase, in order to implement new parameters to existing treatments, which make them more successful.
