The mastering of English language for Cuban professionals is an essential objective in Higher Education. The teaching-learning process of the four subjects that comprise the English discipline (General English I and II, English for Academic Purposes and English for Professional Purposes) should be developed with great expertise and should meet the students´ communicative needs regarding the learning of the English language and the peculiarity of the different technical fields studied at the university in relation to the subject English for Professional Purposes. In the Language Center, located at the Technological University of Havana, the teachers are being methodologically trained and professionally developed to teach the English language in the current pandemic context through distance education. This epidemiological period has demanded the search and use of teaching aids that allow education for all the students in the country. Moodle platform, as a virtual learning environment, makes possible the students´ access to the contents in a dynamic and interesting way. This article is aimed at presenting an experience in the teaching-learning process of English for Academic Purposes through a distance course, as a result of the methodological work carried out by English language teachers from the Language Center.
