The article addresses the main characteristics of transmedia production, with emphasis on hyper-television models. Starting from the distinctive features of Cuban television, as a model of public television and at the same time sui generis within the non-commercial archetypes. It raises essential questions related to cultural policies, infrastructure or the conceptions about television entertainment that abound in the management structures of the media in Cuba. The research aimed at assessing the possibilities offered by the Cuban scenario to make the leap towards a more optimal and contemporary television panorama, in tune with the demands of today's audiences, based on the characteristics of transmedia production models from television.
