To guarantee the production of a biological origin-pharmaceutical raw material (surfactant) from pig, pre-fattening diagnosis was applied to involved units and quality tools system (surveys, interviews, idea-generating techniques to determine the causes that negatively influencing in obtaining useful pig lungs. Results showed the 10 detected non-approvals and its follow-up, the causes with a negative influence on the process outlined in cause-effect diagram, the staff training program through a lecture system and practical classes, as well as the 21 drawed-up procedures and the 15 instructive ones. We conclude that the actions carried out allowed us to increment the culture related to workers quality, the causes that negatively influenced on productive process were identified, as well as the non-approvals, which made easy the application of corrective measures to be followed to eliminate or to minimize it.
