The Social and Solidarity Economy, as a concept and proposal for social transformation, has been placed in contemporary scientific work. It is possible to identify, on a global scale, sectors that fall within this aspect. In our country, especially in de last decades, it is posible to identify experiences of this nature. Along with the studies in this sense have been identified. What are the opportunities and challenges of the Social and Solidarity Economy in Cuba? Are there conditions for the development of this type of experience? The main objectives are to present the international and national approachto the subject and the presentation of some experiences in our context. The novelty of this proposal lies in showing examples that move in this logic in our country.
