ENRIQUE ESTEVEZ, Regla Z. y SIEIRO MIRANDA, Grethel L.. Agrometeorological model for forecasting agricultural yield of sugarcane. Rev. Cubana Met. [online]. 2024, vol.30, n.3 Epub 01-Sep-2024. ISSN 2664-0880.
The objective of the research is the development of an agrometeorological model for forecasting sugar agricultural yield. The yields by strains and totals, area of each strain and total, and age of the plantation were taken from 13 Management Business Units in the Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Ávila provinces in the period 1980-2015; as well as monthly records of precipitation, average temperature and evapotranspiration from seven meteorological stations. The Productive Potential Index was calculated according to the phenological phase in which it is found to verify its degree of effectiveness. For statistical processing, the Excel tabulator, STATISTICA version 8.0.5 and the SciPy mathematical module were used. The effectiveness of the agricultural yield estimates obtained with the model presented for the 2011 - 2015 harvests was compared using the coefficient of determination R2, analyzing the relationship established between the regressor variables and the predictand. The multiple linear regression model allows agricultural performance forecasts to be made with precision and adjustment, depending on the specific commercial scenarios of the country's sugarcane production. The province of Ciego de Ávila reveals, of the three under study, the highest degree of effectiveness in estimating the agricultural yield of sugar cane.
