TRUJILLO SALGADO, Jorge Enrique; VIGOA SANCHEZ, Lázaro Pablo; SOTOLONGO MOLINA, Yolanda y GUTIERREZ, María Isabel. Analgesia extradural posoperatoria en pacientes con lumbotomías. Rev Cubana Cir [online]. 1997, vol.36, n.2, pp.141-146. ISSN 0034-7493.
The analgesic effects of the following drugs by extradural route were studied: epinephrine 0.1 mg, clonidine 0.15 mg, fentanyl 0.15 mg, morphine 2 mg, and morphine 2 mg plus clonidine 0.15 mg, all of them added to bupivacaine 0.5 20 mL (100). A total number of 145 patients were studied in a prospective way. The statistical analysis was applied by the analysis of variance and the times of maximal analgesia and undesirable reactions were compared. Clonidine was to be better than fentanyl for this objective, but its inclusion to the mixture of bupivacaine/morphine only increased the incidence of adverse effects. It is concluded that the best combination was bupivacaine 0.5 % and morphine 2 mg
