The therapy for flail chest is presently based on the care of respiratory disorders causing pulmonary contusion, and on the stabilization of the chest wall. To solve this last problem; Steinman-type steel wires are used and they are secured in block by pistons similar to those of external fixator sets. As far as it is known, this treatment technique of flail chest is a novelty. This is a simple method with such advantages as: it may be used bedside, requires few surgical implements and inmediately eliminates respiratory disorders. The used fitting makes the steel wire sliding impossible
