An observational and descriptive study of 53 patients who died due to subarachnoid hemorrhage and were attended at the General Hospital of Morón from January 1st, 1986, to December 31st, 1996, was conducted. Males were the most affected (54.72 %) as well as patients over 54 (62.26 %). Anterior circulation was the most frequent localization of the aneurysms (95 %) and within them the middle cerebral artery (35 %) and the posterior communicating artery (25 %) were the most affected. Arterial hypertension was the most associated disease with subarachnoid hemorrhage (49.22 %), and the ventricular flooding the most frequent cause of death (2.27 %)
