A retrospective study of the first 261 patients with gallbladder affections that underwent laparoscopic surgery in the province of Cienfuegos during a semester was conducted. A survey was applied to obtain data of interest, such as need of surgery conversion, presence of clinical manifestations, symptomatology, ultrasonographic, surgical and pathologic diagnosis, and pre- and postoperative stay. There was a considerable reduction of costs by concept of stay, surgical material and medical certificates. Only in 2 patients it was necessary the conversion to open surgery due to bleeding of the cystic artery multiple adherences. The efficiency of ultrasound as a useful diagnostic aid for the entity was verified in 100 % of the series. It was also observed 100 % of clinical, surgical and pathologic relationship (p<0.001). There was a decrease of risks an a greater wellbeing for patients
