A retrospective investigation of the medical histories of 31 patients with mixed tumor of the parotid gland that were consecutively treated with subtotal parotidectomy in our Department from 1979 to 1983, including both, was made. Of the 31 patients 12 were males (38.7 %) and 19 females (61.3 %). The right parotid was the most affected. Blair’s surgical incision was used in 19 patients. 32.2 % of the series had paresis of the facial nerve.The estimation of survival and the local control at 10 and 15 years old were 90.3 and 0 %, and 80.6 and 0 %, respectively.
