To update the Good Medical Practices Guide on the use of antimicrobials in the General Surgery Service of the "Joaquín Albarrán" Cliical Surgical Hospital authors analyzed, discussed and approved in a collective way the guidelines in each morbid process in such service offering recommendations on the drugs choice according to the institution availabilities, the prophylactic use, onset time, administration route and treatment length. To decrease or avoid the infection in the surgical wounds give to this type of analysis a peculiar significance in the current surgery, thus, it is necessary its systemic updating.
