Formocresol began to be used in Pedodontics in 1930 and as time went by, its cytostatic effect on pulp was proved. 25 decidous teeth were treated with diluted formocresol pulpotomies, 14 had vital pulp and 11 had non-vital pulp. After one year of evolution good results were obtained in 92.8 % of the first group and in 72.7 % of the second group.
