The health situation of the contemporary world demands from society to analyze in the first place questions such as equity, health promotion and prevention, the quality of attention, the ethical dilemmas, the recognition of the technological health needs in the national policy as a key factor for its development, and the use of appropriate technologies. To this end, a review of the most updated literature on this topic was made to contribute to the knowledge and dissemination of a discussed, but present topic.
