The determination of the detection and quantification limits of the active principles lidocaine and epinephrine was performed to validate the cleaning process taking place after the production of capsules. The high-performance liquid chromatography with reverse-phase columns and ultraviolet detection was used for both methods. These techniques were implemented for the analytical monitoring of washing waters from cleaning of the manufacturing reactors. It is recommended that sites where the active principle traces are not detectable be rinsed at least three times.
