Resumen

MARTIN-VIANA, Nilia de la Paz; MORALES LACARRERE, Iván Gastón  y  ROBERTO CORDOVES, Yamilka. Uso de la reología en la evaluación de la jalea dentífrica fluida. Rev Cubana Farm [online]. 2002, vol.36, n.1, pp.21-27. ISSN 0034-7515.

The rheologic behavior of the fluid tooth gel was studied by using a HAAKE digital rotatory viscosimeter. The apparent viscosity was determined by a Brookfield RVF rotatory viscosimeter. The preparation was stored under different thermal conditions. The results were statistically analyzed through a variance analysis to know if there were significant differences among the means of the population. According to the rheologic study, it was concluded that its behavior corresponded to a body with non Newtonian pseudoplastic flow, with a good degree of structural recovery. Statistically significant differences were not found. A reliability level of 95 % was attained among the values of the means of the apparent viscosity of the preparation stored at different temperatures during 48 weeks after being made. The designed formulation proved to be physically stable, at least under the experimental conditions and circunstances used in this trial.
