A production batch of human recombinant gamma interferon was characterized as reference material for different analytical techniques, and it was demonstrated by the different varianze analyses made for each of the assayed techniques that the batch fulfills the requirements to be used as reference material. The homogeneity study conducted by High Performance Liquid Chromatography technique in reverse phase showed that the reference material has the homogeneity required for its use. The batch is stable for 2 years stored at -70 °C, according to previous studies conducted in the production batches of active raw material of human recombinant gamma interferon
