The emergency medical assistance is one of the milestones at the time of evaluating the quality of the health care services of any health system. It is an area where the medical action requires training, agility and soundness of knowledge. The severe patient usually originates the prescription of drugs, a health technology that may contribute to improve the patients' management, if it is well used. The questions about this type of patients in connection with drugs are also common. The therapeutic consultation as a means of information has supported the action of physicians in this medical sphere. The present paper illustrates clinical cases that justify the consultations given by our service at the Center for the Development of Pharmacoepidemiology.
