Pharmacokinetics appears in the context of Pharmaceutical Sciences, conceptually from ancestral times, but it becomes a constituted science with the research practice extended in the 1960's. Its incidence on the regulations for the approval of drugs for their commercialization and, at the same time, on the definition of the character of the pharmacological response, made its contents be taught at the university classrooms. In Cuba, the radical transformations of Higher Education conducted by the movement so-called University Reform influenced on the development of Pharmaceutical Education that year after year improved until the last decade of the XX century, where Pharmacokinetics occupied a predominant place in the present curricula. It is analyzed how university research in the university-society dialectic relationship influences on the promotion of the pharmacokinetic researches required for the clinical authorization to new therapeutic entities.
