It was presented a case of Legionnaries'disease in a patient suffering from AIDS who developed a respiratory picture with radiological manifestations and fever of 39.5 EC, diagnosed by direct immunofluorescence of his sputum, water from the air conditioner of his room, spleens and peritoneal exudates of guinea pigs inoculated with these materials and that developed signs of the disease, too. Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 was identified. The patient's response to the specific antimicrobial therapeutics was favorable.
