A case that led a multidisciplinary team at "Enrique Cabrera" General Hospital, in Havana City, to make a therapetutic consultation and a literature review was presented. The female patient had an extrasuprarenal pheochromocytoma and it was suspected that the administration of metoclopramide might be the cause of the hypertensive crisis. It was proved how the participation of the physicians in the pharmacosurveillance contributes to the development of the medical thinking and to a more rational use of drugs
