This paper is aimed at giving information to medical assistance specialists in food and nutrition about some modified carbohydrate diets that should be indicated to treat Dumping's syndrome and lactose intolerance. The characteristics of these diseases and the particularities of their nutritional treatment are reviewed. A list of food, with or without lactose, that are considered as adequate for those cases of lactose intolerance, is shown. It is concluded that the nutritional care of the patients with these diseases may be improved.
